Sundown Buoy

Vintage travel poster illustration of a traveler dropping a rubber buoy from a wooden boat at sunset

Sundown Buoy is the Beach Bass style made for those moments when the sun is setting and everyone is still lingering outside. The music sits between golden hour and night, with a deep, rounded bass, relaxed drums, a touch of dusty soul, gentle digital sounds, tape hiss, and synths that feel faded by the sun instead of perfectly polished. It feels warm on the surface but carries weight underneath, always focused on groove, movement, and a bass you notice before you even realize it.

The whole idea centers on the buoy: small, weathered, and pulled through the water, but still floating and drifting with the current, marking a spot long after the boat has passed. Each Sundown Buoy release drops another marker along that path—late afternoon, sunset, afterglow, moonrise, and the late hours when the lights dim, the bass deepens, and everyone moves a little differently.

The catalog comes from a creative process that blends modern generative tools for idea development with hands-on work in choosing, arranging, designing sounds, editing, producing, and mixing the final music. Throughout, prompts, source material, different versions, stems, and creative stages are all recorded. Technology is part of the process but does not define it. The goal is to make music that feels like the sun is setting, the water is still warm, and the night is just starting.

Short bio

Sundown Buoy makes Beach Bass — warm, low-slung electronic music for the hours after the sun goes down. Pastel, matte and unhurried, the project pairs rubbery sub-bass with sun-bleached texture and a coastal, vintage-poster visual world.
